Tomorrow, registrations for indications of senior researchers to the Medalha do Mérito Científico Carlos Chagas award will be open

Nominations will be evaluated from August 1 to 7. On August 8, the BSTM will disclose the winner, who will be granted with a medal during the Congress' opening ceremony

The scientists who made great contributions to Tropical Medicine will also be honored in the Congress of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (2016 MEDTROP). During the event, to be held from August 21 to 24 in Maceió, Alagoas, for the first time the Medalha do Mérito Científico Carlos Chagas (Carlos Chagas Scientific Merit Medal) will be granted. Nominations of researchers to receive the award can be made from July 16 to 30.

Rules for the Young Researcher Award will change in this year's edition

The Young Researcher Award will have news in 2016. The youngsters, who until now ran against each other, now will be split into 4 different categories: graduation, masters, doctorate and post-doctorate. Besides this, three awars will be given for each category: the winners will be granted R$1,000.00, while the second and third places will receive special mentions. At all, there will be 12 awards.
